The little details of your life get lost as the years go by. I've had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. My dad first taught me to use his manual 35mm SLR camera when I was 5. I still can remember standing in the front yard of my childhood home with my dad leaning over showing me how to manipulate the camera. The sound of the shutter clicking was loud and sharp, as if it was making a point that every image was one more detail that I was going to remember forever.
For my 8th birthday, my parents gave me my very own camera. It wasn't anything special like my dad's, but it was mine, and I could capture everything and everyone around me. Looking back at those pictures I took, they are silly, un-composed, and really uninteresting to anyone but myself. They remind me of the little things, the moments, the details around me that one forgets as time goes on.
As I've gotten older, I've used my photography for more than just capturing my own life. I've had the pleasure to travel the world and capture the different cultures around us. There is nothing more special than seeing a different perspective for the very first time. The fact that it's captured to remember forever is special; whether it be sad or happy, full of joy and excitement, you remember that moment in time. I love spending my time taking pictures of babies, young children and families. Every person, child, and family has something special to remember.
It is my job as your photographer, to help capture the expression of that moment in time, so that you will forever remember the moments, the little details, and the expressions that become hazy as the years go by. I hope you enjoy your photos as much as I love capturing them.
